13 Years of Excellence – How Shenbai Auto Became a Leading Force in China‘s Truck-Mounted Crane Industry

In Suizhou, Hubei – known as China’s “Capital of Special Vehicles” – one company has risen from scratch to become a dominant player in the truck-mounted crane sector in just over a decade. That company is Hubei Shenbai Auto Group.

Behind the numbers is real strength. Founded in 2013, Shenbai Auto now holds over RMB 800 million in total assets, operates a 300-mu factory complex, and maintains a 60,000m² special vehicle exhibition center. In 2024, the company‘s output value exceeded RMB 700 million, with an annual production capacity of 8,000 specialized vehicles. Its proprietary “Banjun Changxing” brand of truck-mounted cranes has ranked among the top three in national sales for three consecutive years, securing a steady market share behind industry giants XCMG and Sany.

Technology upgrade is the main theme. Shenbai’s product line covers cranes from 1.8 tons to 130 tons, spanning over 20 capacities and 60 models. In recent years, the company has partnered with Huazhong University of Science and Technology to establish an expert workstation and a Green Hydraulic Technology R&D Center, tackling technical challenges such as hydraulic system overheating. At the same time, it has joined forces with Wuhan University of Technology and China Unicom to build a 5G-connected digital factory, driving the shift toward intelligent manufacturing.

Market recognition speaks volumes. Shenbai is not only a key strategic partner of Sany Palfinger and its designated assembly base in Central China, but has also been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Specialized and Innovative “Little Giant” Enterprise, and a “Hidden Champion” in the crane industry. Today, Shenbai exports to over 90 countries and regions. A new 50-mu Smart Lighthouse Factory project has also broken ground, positioning the company for future growth in the emergency rescue equipment sector.
